Abstract
This research aimed to 1) compare the reading comprehension skills of fourth-year elementary students before and after learning through game-based learning with the Playbadaboom game media, and 2) examine students' satisfaction with game-based learning using Playbadaboom. The sample group consisted of 21 fourth-year elementary students from class 4/1 at Mahachai Christian Wittaya School, selected through cluster random sampling. The research instruments included (1) a game-based learning lesson plan, (2) the Playbadaboom game, (3) a reading comprehension test, and (4) a student satisfaction questionnaire. The data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and a t-test for dependent samples.
The results revealed that 1) students’ reading comprehension skills significantly improved after learning through game-based learning with Playbadaboom at the .05 significance level, and 2) students' overall satisfaction with game-based learning using Playbadaboom was at a high level (Mean = 4.26, S.D. = 0.68).
