Abstract
The purposes of this study were to 1) compare the ability to learn English vocabulary in hotel situations using a game from the Quizlet application before and after learning among first-year vocational certificate students, and 2) study the satisfaction with learning English vocabulary in hotel situations using a game from the Quizlet application among first-year vocational certificate students. The sample consisted of 34 first-year vocational certificate students from class EN.1/1, selected using cluster random sampling. The research instruments included a lesson plan using the game, a vocabulary test, and a satisfaction questionnaire. The statistical methods used for data analysis were mean, standard deviation, and hypothesis testing using the t-test (Dependent Sample).
The results revealed that 1) students' ability to learn English vocabulary in hotel situations after using the Quizlet game (Mean = 16.20, S.D. = 3.68) was significantly higher than before learning (Mean = 8.58, S.D. = 3.90) at the 0.01 level of statistical significance; and 2) students' satisfaction with learning English vocabulary in hotel situations using the Quizlet game was at a high level overall (Mean = 3.97, S.D. = 0.66).
