Main Article Content
Abstract
Amidst the rapid technological changes in the digital age, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming an important tool that can transform the accounting work of SMEs. This article aims to analyze the potential of AI to solve the problems of traditional accounting systems that often experience delays in reporting, inventory checking, and cost analysis, especially in the SMEs sector which is resource-constrained but crucial to the Thai economy. The study found that AI technology can create changes in accounting work in many forms, especially AI-Powered OCR for document processing, Cloud-Based Accounting Software that learns data recording behavior and drones for inventory counting which such innovations help improve work accuracy and efficiency. In addition, the application of AI in real case studies such as rice mills using ERP systems and melon farms using Smart IoT Controllers, demonstrate positive changes in accounting and financial management. However, challenges in personnel skills and data security remain important issues. Therefore, this study proposes a preparation approach through the development of a roadmap that emphasizes the integration of automation technologies to enable SMEs to fully utilize AI which will affect the development of the Thai economy in the long term.
