The Utilization of a Word Brain Puzzle Game in Learning Management to Improve Spelling Proficiency in the Thai Language for Second Grade Students

Abstract
This research is designed to: 1) compare the spelling proficiency in the Thai language of Grade 2 students after engaging with the Word Brain Puzzle game against a 70% benchmark, and 2) examine the perceptions of Grade 2 students regarding the educational approach utilizing the Word Brain Puzzle game. The sample group comprised 39 students from Grade 2/2, chosen using clustered random sampling. The research instruments comprised: 1) a learning management plan utilizing the Word Brain Puzzle game, 2) a spelling assessment, and 3) a questionnaire for feedback. Data were evaluated utilizing mean, standard deviation, and one-sample t-test.
The research results showed that: 1) The students' spelling proficiency following instruction with the Word Brain Puzzle game was 86.67%, surpassing the 70% benchmark with statistical significance at the .05 level, and 2) the students' perceptions of learning with the Word Brain Puzzle game were generally rated highly (Mean = 4.08, S.D. = 0.55).
