Development of Educational Manga for History Learning: The Verdun Case Study

Abstract
This research, titled “The Development of Manga for Learning History on the Battle of Verdun,” aimed to develop manga-based learning media and enhance historical understanding. The study employed a creative research approach based on Design Thinking. The sample group consisted of experts and general users. Research instruments included a quality assessment form and a satisfaction questionnaire, with data analyzed using mean and standard deviation.
The results showed that content quality was rated at a high level (mean = 4.20), while design was at a moderate level (mean = 3.46). User satisfaction was at a high level (means = 4.03 and 3.91, respectively). It can be concluded that the developed manga effectively enhances understanding and motivation in learning history.
